Our story
Hi, my name is Dani Johnson. Thank for stopping by The Wandering Soul. The name for my shop came from my penn name, The Wandering Soul Writer. I have published four poetry books, and I am currently penning my first novel.
I’ve lived in Sharon for more than half of my life, and when the opportunity presented itself for me to open a shop in Sharon, I couldn’t ignore it. Art and creativity have always been a passion of mine, and within my shop, you’ll find over 18 Local Artists and Authors who share the same passion. I truly believe in highlighting others’ visions and thankfully there is a plethora of creativity where I live. I love having a space where people can come together for classes, workshops, and events. There is always something going on here, and I am able to meet so many talented and unique individuals.
My mom and sister read to me consistently as a child until I, ever the independent girl, could figure out how to put the letters together myself. From that point on you would never see me without a book in my hands.
Loving the written word as much as I do, I soon pondered what it would be like to have a bookstore, and now I know. It feels exactly how I thought it would and then some. I get so much joy talking about and recommending books. Seeing someone’s eyes light up when taking a new book home is pure happiness for me. That is exactly why I am doing this. I knew there were other people out there like me. Books are my jam. You may say it’s an obsession, but it is a healthy one, right?
Also, I recently took the plunge by working for myself completely, utilizing the many skills I have gained over the years in various career endeavors. Being at home or at my shop, I am grateful for all that has transpired to allow me these changes in my life.
Fun Facts. If you already know me this isn’t a surprise but for those who don’t, I LOVE HALLOWEEN, and everything related to Horror and October. It just has a wild, crazy special feel which of course, fits me like a glove or should I say Michael Myers’ Mask!
I rely on my Family (fur kids included), Friends, Books, Music, and Nature to keep me sane.
